If you get a strange voice-recorded message saying that this is a test of Artesia's emergency notification system on Tuesday morning (August 13), don't worry. It's a test of Artesia's Nixle Dial system, which the City uses to notify residents during emergencies.
There will only be two times that a resident should be receiving these calls - 1) During a test, and 2) During a real emergency. Emergencies include natural disasters, evacuations, and even structure fires. In the case of more local emergencies like structure fires, only those land lines in the affected vicinity will be notified.
