The City of Artesia has selected six graduating high school seniors in the community for scholarship awards, through Artesia’s Scholarship Program. The program provides scholarships to students pursuing a college education or seeking to develop expertise in a trade or vocation. The following Artesia residents were selected based on their academic achievement, community involvement, and an essay submission:
$1,000 scholarship award
Tiffany Cheng, Whitney High School
Annais Mendoza, Gahr High School
Danielle Reyes, Whitney High School
$500 scholarship award
John Mark De La Pena, Cerritos High School
Ariana Mora, Gahr High School
Lauren Natividad, Cerritos High School
The Artesia City Council recognized the scholarship recipients at the July 11th City Council meeting. The students will have the opportunity to allocate the scholarship funds towards the college of their choice.
Funds for the Scholarship Program are raised with the generous support of community members, businesses, civic groups, and churches. This year’s Scholarship Program was made possible as a result of the generous monetary donations received from the following sponsors:
Artesia Chamber of Commerce
Boy Scouts of America - Troop 693
Holy Family Catholic Church
The Kakkar Family
The City is pleased to continue to partner with community members to further advance the future of the youth in Artesia.
