Facility Rentals

Facility rentals are available for park space, picnic shelters, and community centers at Artesia Park and AJ Padelford Park. There are a variety of different size spaces to meet the needs of each event.

The Facility Use Regulations outline the policies, procedures, rules, and fees for renting facilities and spaces from the Artesia Parks and Recreation Department. The Fee Schedule is included in the Facility Use Regulations as Exhibit A, which includes all fees for rentals. Sports/Athletic Fields are available by permit only. All field usage permit costs are detailed in the Facility Use Application.  Facility Use Applications must be submitted along with full fee payment at the Artesia Park office in order to reserve any rental space. Facility users may use their own form of insurance, please check out our requirements below.

View Facilities

Please contact the Parks and Recreation Office for availability at 562-860-3361. 

  • All facility uses applications must be made in person at the Parks Office.
  • Reservations must be made a minimum of 2 weeks to a maximum of 6 months prior to the scheduled event.
  • Facility Use Application must be approved by Park Staff and fees paid in full.
  • All reservations must be made in person and are based on a 1st-come, 1st-serve basis. No reservations will be taken over the telephone, email, mail or fax.

Required Information

Please bring the following to the Parks Office:

  • Valid Driver's license or California ID
  • Current utility bill (water, gas, electric, or landline) - Must be a hard copy if your driver’s license does not reflect your current address.
  • If you are a Non-Profit entity, a current 501C3 Form will be required for the non-profit rate (NO EXCEPTIONS)
  • Full payment that is due (cash, check, or credit card - 2.85% service charge will be added)

Large Scale Facility Use

Facility Uses involving large groups exceeding three hundred (300) Persons will require Large Event Facility Use Permits that must be approved by City Council. Events of this nature should be done more than 6 months in advance whenever possible.  Large scale uses will require an appointment with Parks and Recreation management to discuss the details of the event in order to prepare for City Council approval. Please email recreation@cityofartesia.us to setup a meeting with staff regarding any large-scale use requests.
