Artesia's philosophy on graffiti removal is simple -get rid of it as soon as it is reported or seen, and pass the cost of removal to the vandals or their family.
Artesia's policy is to remove graffiti within 24 hours of reporting new graffiti.
Additionally, the use of technology to positively identify taggers when they are caught assists the City in recording the moniker used and all of the locations that it has been found, so that when the vandal is found the full cost of cleanup is then shouldered by the individual.
