STATEMENT FROM LAKEWOOD STATION CAPTAIN DAVID SPRENGEL BELOW:

As we celebrate National Night Out, although not in-person, Lakewood Station would like to celebrate our commitment to the great cities we proudly serve, Artesia, Bellflower, Hawaiian Gardens, Lakewood and Paramount, along with the unincorporated areas of the 4th Supervisor District.  We are thankful for the partnership we share with each of our communities through community-based policing.

Lakewood Station is a proud and diverse bunch of men and women doing a difficult job, quite often doing it really well, while at other times making mistakes.  We are not perfect, but we try to be excellent.  We proudly serve the community as part of what I believe to be the gold standard of law enforcement, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.  Our Department always works to evolve in an ever-changing climate and continues to work positively in challenging times.  Our ongoing commitment to you, our community, is the preservation of life, protection of property, and continued addressing of quality of life issues impacting your neighborhoods.

The Lakewood Station family would like to thank our local community for their ongoing outward signs of support and appreciation.  From the hundreds of cards - many handmade, thoughts, emails, calls, waves, honks, signs posted on homes, coffee, water, energy drinks, meals, fro-yo, snacks, prayers, love, treats, masks, visits and signs - many of which have been displayed in our station and lobby, we, The Lakewood Station Family say THANK YOU and GOD BLESS YOU!

We are blessed to proudly serve such a great community.
