Learn from the experts on how to prepare for a major disaster. Free CERT course consists of three, seven-hour sessions. Complete the course for a CERT certificate, and be one of the responsible citizens whom emergency services rely on after a disaster.
Topics will be on basic Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Training and include:
- Disaster Preparedness
- Disaster Fire Suppression
- Disaster Medical Operations I
- Disaster Medical Operations II
- Light Search and Rescue Operations
- Disaster Psychology and Organization
- Terrorism
- Course Review and Simulation
During each session participants are required to wear closed toed shoes and long pants (for safety purposes). The course will be held on three consecutive Saturdays and you MUST attend all three sessions to receive your CERT certificate. Participants must be at least 18 years old.
Area E Disaster Management serves the cities of: Artesia, Bell, Bellflower, Bell Gardens, Carson, Cerritos, Commerce, Compton, Cudahy, Downey, Hawaiian Gardens, Huntington Park, La Habra Heights, Lakewood, La Mirada, Lynwood, Maywood, Montebello, Norwalk, Paramount, Pico Rivera, Santa Fe Springs, South Gate, Vernon and Whittier.
