[ARCHIVED] Sheriffs Host Food Drive for Low Income Families

Christmas dinner with the family

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department at Lakewood Station is gearing up for the annual Holiday Food Drive. Each year the Lakewood Station puts dinner baskets together for needy families in each of the seven communities that they serve.

The Deputies work closely with the City to identify families in Artesia that are in need of holiday assistance and provide them with a basket filled with everything needed to make a holiday dinner. They also provide a toy to any children 12 and under. All items are collected through the donations from the Sheriff Department, staff, and members of the community.

Collection boxes are located at City Hall and the Artesia Park Office until Friday, December 11, 2015.

Please consider giving to the less fortunate by donating one or more of the items listed below:

• Unwrapped children’s toy
• Stuffing (10oz box)
• Mashed Potatoes (13oz box)
• Powder gravy (pouches)
• Green Beans (14.5oz can)
