Rene J. Trevino has been a proud member of the Artesia community for the past 16 years. Originally from East Los Angeles, Rene’s upbringing shaped his resilience, work ethic, and problem-solving mindset. A longtime business owner, he has successfully operated his own company for 26 years. Today, his business is based in Artesia, employs 22 people, and provides services across 15 states, bringing real-world business experience and fiscal discipline to his role in public service.
While this is his first time serving in an elected public office, Rene brings decades of leadership experience to public service. Since joining the City Council, he is most proud of fulfilling a key campaign promise: strengthening transparency and financial accountability at City Hall. He believes that public safety must always remain a top priority, so residents and businesses feel secure, and he strongly advocates for youth programs that help develop future leaders. Financial transparency and responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars remain central to his work as a councilmember.
Rene is known for his straightforward approach: speaking the truth, making tough decisions, and focusing on the details that matter most. He values collaboration and thoughtful discussion to ensure the City Council moves forward together on major challenges. Outside of City Hall, Rene enjoys walking, golfing, and attending live concerts and musicals. He is deeply engaged in the community and encourages visitors to experience Artesia by attending the International Street Fair and Diversity Festival, a celebration of the City’s rich cultural makeup. Rene is committed to being accessible to all residents and believes that truly serving Artesia means understanding and respecting the many cultures that call the city home.
