New Miss Artesia and Miss Artesia Teen Crowned

The air seethed
with different emotions at the Albert O. Little Community Center on the night
of July 1. This was the night of the Miss Artesia Pageant.
Artesia's Next Top Models was the theme for the
Miss Artesia Pageant on July 1.
Megan Versteeg and Lauren Alvarez,
2005's Miss Artesia and Miss Artesia Teen, have passed their crowns to the
new Miss Artesia Mariel Lansang and Jeanette Pineda.
The new Miss Artesia court is Tana Gandhi and Shauna Stoughton. The new Miss Artesia Teen court is Rachel Langan and Olivia Versteeg.
This year's mistresses of ceremonies were Miss
Artesia 2004 and Miss Artesia Teen 2004, Melissa Centeno & Sharmaine Harrison.
After giving up their titles at last year's pageant, they were both ecstatic
to come back and be a part of the annual city event.
Each contestant came on stage for a short introduction in their business attire where they announced why they would like to be the next Miss Artesia or Miss Artesia Teen.
Prior to be voted in as Miss Artesia Lansang proposed, "If chosen Miss Artesia, I will serve my city with honor, respect and pride."
