Bee Removal Notice

The Los Angeles County Department of
Animal Care & Control does not handle calls regarding bees or their removal.

This information has been provided by the Los Angeles County Agricultural Commission/Weights & Measures.

If you have a problem with bees,

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO KILL OR REMOVE THE BEES YOURSELF.

1. For Stinging Incidents (victim involved) call 911.

2. Honey Bee Swarms or Nests (outside, not a structure)

In the unincorporated are of Altadena, Monday thru Thursday, call (626) 575-5466. Friday thru Saturday and after hours, call (213) 974-1234. Ask for the bee inspector from the Los Angeles County Agricultural Commissioner's department.

Call Vector Control District, call 1-800-925-3800. If you are in an area covered by a MAD, they eradicate the bees at no cost to the property owner. To determine if your area is covered, please be ready to give your zip code.

3. Honey Bee Swarms or Nests (inside or on a structure)

Check your local Yellow Pages under "Pest Control" for a licensed control operator. Only a licensed pest control operator can kill bees in or on a structure.
