Missing Nicole "Nikki" Jenkins
Nicole “Nikki” Jenkins disappeared shortly after her prom in April
2005. Her mother, Cindy Brunner, an employee of Ralph’s meat department,
has been trying diligently to find her since.
According to Brunner, in November 2004 Nicole was accepted into Job Corp., an accelerated educational program that would enable her to acquire her high school diploma, as well as acquire practical vocational training in a matter of months. In fact, Jenkins is in the commercial that Job Corp. runs every now and then during the daytime. Brunner said, “She [Nicole Jenkins] surpassed her goals in record time, and was truly proud of herself and on the road to success …”
The school’s prom was set for Friday, April 29, 2005. As prom grew closer, Nicole’s excitement grew more and more each day. “Beyond a doubt, [prom] is a rite of passage for every teenage girl,” admitted her mother.
Brunner picked her up from the prom at the Job Corp. campus at about 11:30 p.m., and noticed she was dressed in jeans and a sweatshirt (not her prom dress).
Sometime the next day Nicole Jenkins left while everyone was still asleep and Brunner was at work early in the morning. Brunner assumed her daughter went to a friend’s house to pick up her dress since she wasn’t wearing it when she came home. Nicole Jenkins never returned.
Brunner contacted the Lakewood sheriff, who filed Jenkins’ case as a runaway because there was no evidence of a crime scene and that she left on her own. Brunner maintains that it can not be a runaway because Jenkins left without money, identification, or personal belongings of any kind.
“We fear something terrible happened to our daughter,” said Brunner in a memo to Ralphs supermarket management, who agreed to post Nicole’s picture and information at all their supermarkets.
The posters being distributed to get her face known read, “She may be in the company of a male and could still be in the local area. Nicole’s ears, tongue, and navel are pierced.”
When last seen, her hair was dyed blonde. She may go by “Nikki”.
Jenkins is 5’3, and approximately 115 lbs.
