Wilma Hoffman -- The first Miss Artesia
After she was named "Miss Artesia", Wilma represented Artesia in
the county-wide competition held during the LA County Fair.

BEAUTY HONORS ROYALTY - Bevy of beautiful Bellflower girls honor Pansco Hazel,
famous Holstein who, as "Queen Buttercup III", reigned over 1951
Bellflower Fair. Pansco Hazel by next Tuesday will have passed world's milk
producing record, it was learned today. Girls are Janet Myer and Loretta Randall
(holding sign), and behind Pansco Hazel, left to right are: Ardie Veyna, Nancy
Thompson, Wilma Hoffman, Marie Johnson and Ruth Geske.

Carol Herrema
Carol Herrema was born in Aretsia and educated locally. The daughter of John
and Florence Herrema, she reigned as Miss California from 1972 to 1973. Carol
represented the City of Artesia and California, in the Miss USA-Miss Universe
Beauty Pageant.
Carol Herrema is the only Miss Artesia to win the title of Miss California.
