Miss Artesia and Miss Artesia Teen Pageant Scheduled for June 2, 2007

The Miss Artesia and Miss Artesia Teen Pageant is made available to young women in the area. Participating in the pageant is not only fun, but rewarding because it teaches young women skills they will use for the rest of their lives: self confidence, poise, public speaking, and so much more! For more information please call the pageant directors:

Linda Gonzalez 562-857-3384
Erin Miranda 562-397-6430

The pageant will be held on Saturday, June 2 at 8 a.m. in the Albert O. Little Community Center. The contestants will be judged on their poise, ability to speak, and intelligence during personal interviews with the judges (prior to pageant), onstage introductions, walk in their evening gowns, and answers to onstage questions. Admission to the pageant is $10 (includes booklet & refreshments). Tickets can be obtained from one of the court members, contestants or directors. There is limited seating, and tickets do sell fast.

There are many events leading up to the night of the pageant. The contestants attend practices twice a week where they practice speaking, learn to properly walk, and polish up on their interview skills. One day each week, the girls are lead by a choreographer who teaches them a dance routine that will be preformed at the beginning of the pageant. In addition to weekly practices, the girls will participate in fun events such as a tour of Fire Station #30, Contestant Fun Night at Golf n’ Stuff, and Pageant Gala Night.

Each contestant is required to obtain minimum sponsorship of $200 for their entry fee to the pageant. Sponsors can be any business from the City of Artesia, or outside the city, as well as family and friends.

No new entries are being accepted at this time -- so come watch the pageant this year and pick up some tips for next year!
