Veteran's Day

Congresswoman Linda Sanchez, District Supervisor Don Knabe, and the City of Artesia would like to invite you to Artesia’s Veterans Day program.
Sometimes, a veteran will have earned medals while on active duty, but for varying reasons never receive them. Sanchez will be reuniting a few of these veterans with their long-lost medals, some of which were earned as far back as World War 2.
District Supervisor Don Knabe, keynote speaker for the event has a dynamic speech prepared for the event.
“Artesia’s Veterans Day has been viewed as one of the best in the region,” said Mayor John P. Lyon.
Activities for children, food, military displays, and demonstrations will be presented to familiarize all to some of the elements of military life. Active duty representatives of all the branches will be on hand to answer questions about the military.
Members of various veterans groups, including Disabled American Veterans and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and a volunteer group from the Veterans Hospital, will be available for interested veterans.
All are invited to this free event to celebrate and honor our veterans. The event will be at Artesia Park, 18750 Clarkdale Ave., at 12 noon, on Saturday, November 11.
