Senior Services
The Artesia Parks and Recreation Department offers a variety of programs especially for those 60 and over. Programs include a daily congregate or home delivery lunch program, free transportation, social groups, activities, special events, and excursions. Please download the latest Artesian for a full listing of upcoming activities and excursions.

Lunch Program
Artesia contracts with Old-timers Foundation to provide congregate and home delivery lunches to individuals 60 and over.

American Style lunch is served Monday through Friday at 11:30 a.m. South Asian lunches are also available on Wednesdays at 11:45 a.m. There is a suggested donation of $2.25 per meal.

Artesia contracts with Fiesta Taxi to provide a free local shuttle service to Artesia residents who are 60 and over or who are disabled.

The Artesia Express shuttle operates Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.  The shuttle will pick up and drop off anywhere between the boundaries of Alondra Blvd (North), Del Amo Blvd. (South), Valley View St. (East), and Bellflower Blvd. (West).  The Artesia Express also offers service to satellite locations on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Participants must register by appointment through the department office prior to using the service.  Please contact 562-860-3361 for an appointment.

"Through the Years: a Tribute to Kenny Rodgers and Friends" on February 17, 2016, 9:45am-4pm $25 per person (registration opens 1/6)

The Watts Towers Arts Center on March 24, 2016, 10am-4pm $3 per person (registration opens 2/11)
