Registration
Registration for all Parks and Recreation Department programs, classes and excursions is completed by filling out the minor or adult registration form and submitting it to the Department along with any applicable fees. For your convenience, the registration forms can be downloaded and completed at home before submitting to the Department.
Youth Baseball/Softball League
Registration is going on now for the 2010 Spring League! Register at Artesia Park.
The youth baseball/softball league is a recreation league offered to children ages 3-14 years. The league offers youth the opportunity to develop their athletic skills, become part of a team, and learn good sportsmanship.
Interested in Managing or Coaching a team? Download the attached Volunteer form and call (562) 860-3361 for program details. All volunteers will complete livescan finger printing before being accepted into the program.
Park Bench News
Every two months the City of Artesia publishes a community newsletter called the Artesian. In each issue page 4 is reserved for information regarding the Parks and Recreation Department Activities. You can find a copy of the Artesian in your mailbox, at City Hall, Artesia Park or AJ Padelford Park.
The Parks and Recreation Department also produces a Quarterly brochure which includes all community events, recreation classes, and adult and youth sports activities happening during the quarter. You can pick up a copy of the brochure at either park, or you can download it here:

Artesia Senior Center
The Artesia Senior Center is open Monday through Friday 7:30am-3:30pm at the Albert O Little Community Center located at Artesia Park.
Nutritional meals are provided by Oldtimers Foundation Monday-Friday at 11:30am to adults age 60 and over. Reservations are required 24 hours in advance. Reservations can be made by phone at (562) 924-6509.
Bingo Games are held Monday, Tuesday and Friday from 8:45-10:30am.
Free Line Dancing instruction held on Tuesdays 9:30-11:15am
Loom Knitting Workshop meets Wednesdays 10-11:15am. The knitting group has been making and donating handmade knit caps to American troops, premature babies and cancer patients through the Stitches of Love program since 2008. To get involved or make a contribution, please contact the Parks and Recreation Department at (562) 860-3361.
Artesia Park Preschool
The Artesia Park Preschool is offered to potty trained children ages 2½ to 4 years old. Preschool enriches student’s mild academic knowledge and increases social skills among participants.
The Preschool holds four sessions through the calendar year:
Fall – September through December (10 weeks)
Winter – January through March (10 weeks)
Spring – April through June (10 weeks)
Summer – July through August (6-8 weeks)
Two classes are offered each session:
Morning Monday-Friday 8:30am-10:45am
Afternoon Monday-Friday 12:30pm-2:45pm

The Artesia Library is a County operated public library which is located on the Artesia Park grounds. The Library offers numerous activities throughout the week including homework help for elementary and middle school children.
