Annual Halloween Program at ARTESIA PARK

A Halloween Event is offered at Artesia Park, on October 31, 2005, from 5-8 p.m. The event will feature the traditional ghosts and goblins including, entertainment, food, games, contests, adult bingo, and a lot more!

Tiny Cups Youth Soccer Clinic

The City of Artesia will implement a Tiny Cups Soccer Clinic for boys and girls 3 to 8 years of age at Artesia Park. Registration extended, please call for space availability. Fee for residents is $30.00 and $40.00 for non-residents. Parent participation required.

Volunteer Managers, Coaches and Youth Sports Assistants Needed

Looking for a rewarding experience! Artesia Park seeks men and women l8 years of age and older to participate as volunteer managers, coaches, and other assistants for City’s youth sports.

Artesia Park’s Pre-school offers children, 3-5 years of age, an enjoyable and great experience in the world of pre-school education. This enriched education program emphasis on Kindergarten readiness at the Pre-school level. Pre-school registration and classes are held at Artesia Park, 18750 Clarkdale Avenue, Artesia, CA 90701, (562) 860-3361. Students must be fully potty-trained.

Seniors' Holidays Luncheon

The City of Artesia is currently planning its annual Thanksgiving and Christmas Luncheons for seniors (60 + years of age). The Senior Luncheons will be held at the Albert O. Little Community Center at Artesia Park, Thanksgiving on November 16, 2005, and Christmas on December 14, 2005. Doors open at 10:00 a.m. Luncheons feature great food, music, dance, good company, and door prizes.

The Luncheon is free to Artesia Residents (proof of residency required), and non-residents pay a $4.00 fee. Luncheon tickets must be presented at the door for admission. Registration begins October 17, 2005, and continues until full or November 4, 2005, which ever comes first. Seniors must register in advance and in-person no phone registrations are permitted.

Programs and Services for Seniors

The Albert O. Little Community Center is open M-F from 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m., for a full range of programs and services. Senior Portuguese Social Hour meets the first Friday of each month, 1-4 p.m. Artesia Senior Citizen Club meets on Wednesdays, 8 a.m.-12:15 p.m. Activities include, hot lunches for a nominal fee, potlucks, catered food, card games, bingo, transportation, dancing, folk songs, guest speakers, and more. Contact Artesia Park for program information. Senior Flu Shots – November 30, 2005, Starting at 9:00 a.m.


Other Adult Programs Offered

Free Adult classes are being offered at the Albert O. Little Community Center, at Artesia Park. The ABC Unified School District and Cerritos College Adult Program are offering classes as follows:
