Request for Developer / Hotel Qualifications
The City of Artesia (“City”) invites you to respond to the City’s Request for Developer / Hotel Qualifications (“RFQ”) for an opportunity to develop an approximate 1.31-acre Site owned by the City’s Housing Authority (“Housing Authority Site” or “Site”) located on the east side of Pioneer Blvd. between 167th St. and the offramp to the 91 Freeway in the City. The City’s goal is for the Site to be enlarged by potentially adding six privately-owned parcels north of the Site, two privately-owned parcels south of the Site on 168th St., and an additional portion of the public right of way on 168th St. (“Adjacent Sites”) through acquisition to create a larger 2.26-acre development opportunity when combined with the Site (“Combined Site”).
The City is seeking a collaborative and innovative development partner and/or hotel company to acquire the Adjacent Sites, construct and operate an Upper Midscale to Upscale hotel on the Combined Site. The Developer should be skilled and capable of designing, permitting, managing, and constructing hotels and have previous experience in similar markets.
