City officials, management, meet for strategic planning

City officials and other management for the City of Artesia met for a special Strategic Planning Retreat on Feb. 19.

The objective behind the retreat is to assure that the City lives up to its new mission statement, which is, “The City of Artesia is dedicated to providing leadership and exceptional public services to enhance the quality of life for our culturally diverse community.”

Since last year’s retreat, the City has expanded its Three-Year Goals. These goals include improving recreation services and facilities; to attract, develop and retain quality staff and enhance the management team; improve technological capabilities; to complete downtown revitalization; and establish and implement a Green Artesia Program.
