Speaker confirmed for Veterans Day
Brigadier General Mary J. Kight is the Assistant Adjutant General for the California National Guard. Kight has agreed to be the speaker for th eArtesia Veterans Day Event on November 7. The event will start at 10 a.m., and the ceremony begins at 11 a.m., at Artesia Park.
Kight had a long career in the U.S. Air Force. After retiring, she continued her affiliation with the military by joining the Nebraska Air National Guard in 1981, and in 1984 she moved back to her home state of California and joined the California Air National Guard.
While in the National Guard, she quickly moved up the ranks and is now the second-in-command for the California National Guard.
