Update on South Street Reconstruction project

The City has reconstructed South Street from the west city limits, extending to Pioneer Blvd.

The street was constructed with 3 inches of Rubber Asphalt (aka ARAM) and constructed four medians as per plan.Because of the ongoing rain, the project was delayed.Public Works Director Chuck Burkhardt said, "This was an extensive project due to the traffic control and weather elements."

The City is now focusing on the irrigation system, electric for lighting, a flag pole at the west entrance and assorted landscapes to complete the project.

"This is another piece of the beautification puzzle that we continually work on," said Burkhardt.

The project was funded by an Economic Stimulus grant.
