Opportunities to volunteer
There are many opportunities to volunteer in Artesia for which civic-minded individuals may participate.
City Hall and Parks always welcome volunteers to assist in city events. During the summertime, the City offers high school aged youth intern opportunities as well.
To be considered as a volunteer, check the city website under Human Resources for a volunteer application. The City also has internship opportunities with local colleges and universities, too.
Artesia in Action is a group of churches and civic organizations that get together from time to time from cleanup programs. To sign up for future clean-ups with Artesia in Action, visit www.nl-cc.org/CommunityImpact.
Similar to Artesia in Action, there is at least one other group that gets together for vine trimming on major thoroughfares. The vines were planted as a volunteer project to protect walls against graffiti.
