New Public Works Yard begins construction
One of Artesia's long anticipated capital projects is the Public Works Yard.
A Public Works Yard is the central headquarters for a city's Public Works Department. It is where maintenance trucks and equipment are stored.
Since 1959, the City has not owned its own Public Works Yard. Instead, it has been renting property. Finally, after 50 years, the City has begun work to construct a Yard on Corby Ave.
Funds for construction are paid for with redevelopment funds.
