Mexican Independence Day fundraising event raises $1000 toward park programs
AJ Padelford Park’s Parent Group hosted the annual Mexican Independence Day fundraiser and celebration from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. The Parent Group raised almost $1000.
Some of the signature performances at the celebration was a rendition of Arabian Knights performed by the Miss Artesia Court, the mariachi band Infante, singer Miguel Angel Espinoza, and the Norwalk Ballet Folklorico directed by Mrs. Manuel Ramirez.
Food booths sponsored by members of the Parent Group which included Authentic Tacos, Quesadillas, Tamales, Nachos, and great Fruit Cocktails.
The lucky winner of the Parent Group sponsored fundraiser was Grand Prize winner Leticia Maciel and two consolation prize winners. Approximately 500 people from around the area attended the program.
