Artesia News

Looking for photos, info, family members of a Vietnam War MIA from Artesia

Dan Daily McConnaughhay was an Artesian who attended high school at Artesia High School, and enlisted in the US Navy in 1960.  Six years later, he died in a helicopter crash off the coast of Vietnam.  His body was never recovered.

The National League of Families of American Prisoners and Missing in Southeast Asia (NLFAPM) is attempting to locate photos of those who are still unaccounted in Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos.  The NLFAPM has approached the City of Artesia to help them in looking for a photo of McConnaughhay.

There are currently 1,731 Americans that have not made the final journey home.
