Artesians clean railroad tracks
Over time, the unused railroads that run through the middle of town gather weeds, debris, and litter.
On Jan. 15, approximately 50 volunteers armed with shovels and rakes worked along the railroad tracks between South and 187th Street to clean it up.
The group of volunteers included councilmembers, commissioners, Eagle Scouts, Gahr High School students, and other citizens.
City officials said they were very encouraged with the turnout and hope to do this type of volunteer effort every couple of months.
For more information on upcoming cleanups, be sure to check upcoming newsletters, the city website, or just call (562) 865-6262.
