[ARCHIVED] City of Artesia Recognizes Fall Beautification Award Winners

On December 15th, the City of Artesia recognized four community members for their selection as award recipients of the fall Beautification Awards Program.  With the assistance of the Beautification and Maintenance Commission, who supports the City’s beautification efforts, all four recipients were commended for the outstanding upkeep of their homes and businesses.

Two residents were honored with a Sustainable Landscape Beautification Award in appreciation of their outstanding efforts to maintain attractive landscaping using drought-tolerant or native plants, water-friendly irrigation systems, and/or energy efficient or solar lighting, as part of their landscaping design.  The Artesia Christian Home was recognized for both of their facilities under the business category with a Storefront Beautification Award, for maintaining an overall attractive business façade and for the exceptional maintenance of the exterior of their property.  During the City Council meeting, newly appointed Mayor Melissa Ramoso presented the Beautification Award recipients with a Certificate of Recognition and a lawn sign, which they can proudly display on their property.

Artesia’s Beautification Awards Program was created to recognize residents and businesses for outstanding property maintenance.  The program will resume again in the Spring of 2022, when nomination forms will become available.  Community members are encouraged to self-nominate or nominate a neighbor or business, who contributes to keeping Artesia neighborhoods looking beautiful, through the excellent maintenance of their property.
