Artesia has been nominated as a finalist in the Most Business Friendly City contest for Los Angeles County.
This alone is a testament to Artesia's diligence towards its business community. The City of Artesia is up against four other cities in the small city category: Bell Gardens, El Segundo, La Mirada, and San Gabriel. The award, called an EDDY Award is hosted by the Los Angeles Economic Development Corporation.
Artesia was nominated because of its can-do attitude, customer service, and business-friendly programs.
For example, Artesia offers a Restaurant Incentive Program, offering an incentive loan paid for by its sales tax offsets to attract new restaurants.
Another program is the Business Rehabilitation Program, which offers a small loan to businesses to make repairs to their businesses.
The award will be announced at a November 14 banquet held in the Beverly Hilton, at 9876 Wilshire Blvd., in Beverly Hills.
