City Hall gets an upgrade
City Hall will be getting a technological boost this year, in its bid to become more up-to-date compared to neighboring cities.
The City Council Chambers will be fitted with a 7x7 foot monitor for the audience to view, and five 15-inch LCD screens for the City Council.
These will replace the sometimes awkward use of a portable projector.
The chamber’s audio system will also be replaced with more modern equipment, resulting in further clarity and quality sound for everyone in the chambers.
An additional feature will be telecasting and webcasting to the City’s local cable channel as well as the city website.
The cameras needed for this will most likely be controlled at the staff desk and will consist of three cameras set at pre-designated angles. The City has agreed to use approximately $142,000 to upgrade the council chambers.
