Business Association elects Board of Directors
The Artesia Business Association became a reality on the evening of May 28, when a group of private sector representatives voted in its Board of Directors to represent the fledgling organization.
This board will nominate the Association's President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary.
In the face of harsh economic times, and with the demise of the Artesia Chamber of Commerce a few years ago, both the public and private sector in Artesia have begun to see how important their relationships are for each other.
Dr. Steve Sherman, who is the temporary president of the organization, until the Association's Board of Directors elect permanent officers, said, "I'm from Cerritos, but I've lived in this area all my life," even before there was a Cerritos. Without Artesia, there would be no Cerritos. This town is the heart of the region," said Dr. Sherman.
The board is comprised of Felix Lopez, Parimal Shah, James Knag, Dinesh "Danny" Gandhi, Siva Subramaniam, Deepak Shaveri, Debura Taylor Dancles, and Lou Portible.
