Have you seen stray shopping carts?

The California Shopping Cart Retrieval Corporation (CSCRC) was formed in 1993 to create a professional, efficient means of returning shopping carts to grocery stores in Southern California after they are removed from store property.

Since then, it has grown its customer base to include all retail sectors and expanded service areas to California and Nevada.  The Corporation also contracts with over twenty-five municipalities and counties to retrieve shopping carts.  CSCRC is dedicated to providing fast, cost-effective cart retrieval to its customers and provides value-added inventory control and reports for its customers so they can monitor costs in real time.

All of its contractors and sub-contractors are insured and licensed to manage risk.  CSCRC is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the California Grocers Association (CGA).CGA is a non-profit statewide trade association representing approximately 500 retail members operating over 6,000 food stores in California and Nevada and approximately 300 grocery supply companies.

Register with NixlePro

The City has recently updated its Nixle profile, so that we can notify ALL residents in the event of an emergency.  However, in order to keep receiving important non-emergency information, please register with NixlePro at https://artesiaca.my.nixlepro.com.

Those who are encouraged to join Nixlepro are community leaders, neighborhood watch block captains, concerned citizens, community advocates, volunteers, and city employees. It is a way for Artesians to communicate with each other and plan community events, meetings, and much more through a single channel.

It's the best way to be notified about Amber alerts, fire alerts, power failures, public health warnings, terrorist attacks, road closures, neighborhood watch meetings, public notices, public safety advisories, evacuation, national security, natural disasters, public safety emergencies, flood warnings, sexual predators, public events, etc.

Transparency of city salaries

Because of the recent scandal with the City of Bell and the salaries of their City Council, City Manager, and other officials, a lot of interest has been generated regarding the pay of public officials.

Artesia acknowledges this interest and supports it. Salaries of city officials and employees can be seen on the city website at www.cityofartesia.us/salarycompensation page.
