New Plaza in The Works

City representatives and contractors met June 14 to discuss plans for a new plaza on South St. that will contain a restaurant, retail stores, professional offices, and a medical office.

County building inspector Ryong Hong, City Engineer Carlos Alba, Public Works Consultant Chuck Burkhardt, and Jamshed Yasdani (civil engineer), Michael McIsaac (contractor), David Lalonde (contractor), Michael MacArthur (contractor), and Manuel Nobella (contractor) discussed the future of the empty lot next to them at 11700 South St. The plaza will be dubbed The Artesia Gateway Plaza and completion of the initial grading (removal of weeds and leveling of the land) will probably be in October.

Completion of the buildings has not been scheduled.

Pictured to the left and above is the empty lot that will soon be transformed into the Artesia Gateway Plaza.
