Artesia Mourns Loss of Lakewood Sheriff Deputy Jerry Ortiz


Pictured are the flowers and mementos left at the Lakewood Sheriff Station to honor Deputy Jerry Ortiz, who was shot and killed in Hawaiian Gardens recently.

Lakewood Sheriff Deputies provide safety to residents of Artesia as well.

For those of you who have not had the opportunity to personally view the ever increasing tokens of tribute and respect for Jerry - and law enforcement in general - left at the station memorial, I hope this photo gives you an idea of the amount of support the public has shown. Many people continue to visit the memorial to pay their respects.
