Lights on for the Night Out
It's
been an eventful summer, to say the least.
Artesia's Night Out Against Crimes was enjoyed by most people, save for two young men who were arrested.
Approximately 200 people showed up not only to listen to Lakewood Sheriff Captain Dave Fender, Fire Station 30's Assistant Fire Chief Angel Montoyo, and Artesia's mayor; but also to enjoy a free barbecue from the City and an opportunity to share their own recipes.
Displays from Animal Control, CARE Ambulance, and vehicles from Fire and Sheriff Depts made the evening interesting and informative. A few Neighborhood Watch Captains were also about, although wishing to remain anonymous
Night Out Against Crime is a national event meant to educate U.S. citzens on various public safety issues.
