New Street Signs, New Neighborhood

The City of Artesia cordially invites you for the unveiling of the new street signs at the northwest corner of Carver Lane (formerly 193rd Street) and Ely Avenue at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 1.

The mayor will speak, as well as some of the residents who organized the campaign to change the street names. Refreshments will be served afterward at the Carver Academy parking lot.

Please join us in this ceremony as we are also revealing a new Southeast Artesia. This occasion marks a great stepping stone for Southeast Artesia, after residents a few years back began this effort to enhance the perception of their community. Frustrated residents, tired of graffiti defacing their community and being in proximity to the local gang named after their neighborhood, “The 190’s”, decided to make a change.
