City officials visit Jamay

Mayor John P. Lyon, Mayor Pro Tem John Martins, and Commissioner Pete Ochoa visited our sister city of Jamay in the Mexican state of Guadelajara earlier September.

Their mission was to strengthen the bond that is being created between the two cities via the Sister Cities International program.  The three Artesians visited popular historical and tourist areas of Jamay such as La Santa Cruz, La Capillita, La Plaza, La Presidencia, and the Malecon.

They also watched the Mexican Independence Day parade on September 16 and encountered the Jaripeo, a Mexican-style rodeo, and other patriotic events of Mexico.
