Artesia Begins Celebration of Red Ribbon Week

“Drug Free, I have the power.”

October is Red Ribbon Month and October 23-31 is Red Ribbon Week. But because this is such an important subject, Artesia likes to make October "Red Ribbon Month", with all types of activities throughout the month to give residents an opportunity to educate themselves and have fun in the process. Be sure to check this site often, for activities in and outside of Artesia, to get the best opportunity possible to enjoy this great opportunity to better everyone's future.

This year, Artesia will be initiating its Red Ribbon Program with five workshops for parents and children. Topics will include the effects and consequences of substance abuse on the following drugs: Alcohol, marijuana, methamphetamines, and inhalants. There will also be a discussion about raves and gang-related subjects. Guest speakers for the workshops will be S.T.A.R. Deputy Hobbs and Deputy Saldana.
