Artesia City Council to Discuss Proposed Budget

 

City council will discuss the proposed 2005/2006 fiscal year budget on May 17 at 6:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend.

Artesia to Become Passport Acceptance Facility

On May 23, the city will take appointments from passport applicants.
The applications will be sent to the U.S. Department of State for processing.
This service will operate Monday through Friday by appointment only, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Implementing L.A. Sheriff’s Rate Increase Still Unclear

L.A. Sheriff’s Department audit findings for a 5.6 percent increase for 14 billable support units (Phase 1) have previously been excluded from the city’s billing rates.
The findings for Phase One have been finalized in a report to the Board of Supervisors. It is unclear at this time how the board will move forward to implement the increase.

The increases are proposed at an additional five to six percent.
