Construction begins for new park playgrounds

Construction of new playground equipment began April 14.

The playgrounds are a "hybrid play system", and the one in Artesia Park will be accessible for children of all abilities.  Playgrounds at Artesia Park and A.J. Padelford Park are being upgraded.

The playground projects are the result from a $220,000 grant from the California Clean Water, Clean Air, Safe Neighborhood Parks, and Coastal Protection Act of 2002, which will replace playground quipment at Artesia and A.J. Padelford Parks.

The project will be finished by the end of May.
