Help trim vines!
Volunteers are asked to trim vines on Saturday, August 27 at 7 a.m. They will meet on Norwalk Blvd. just south of Artesia Blvd. This is the second service done for this particular volunteer group. The first time they cleared up debris along the old railroad tricks (see picture).
Vines ahve been trimmed in May, but have grown back. Electric sheers are sued to trim the vines.
Project organizer and City Councilmember Michele Diaz said, "My philosophy is that since we don't ahve the staff to maintain the vines, we as citizens must do our share. We must keep the city maintained to keep the city looking good and keep our property values up."
"Norwalk Blvd. is a gateway through Artesia," continued Diaz. "It is important for people driving through to have a positive impression of Artesia."
