Community Meetings for Pacific Electric Right-of-Way


Los Angeles, CA - The Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) will hold its second round of community meetings for the Pacific Electric Right-of-Way/West Santa Ana Branch Corridor Study at Los Angeles County locations on November 16, 23, and December 1.

The public is invited to attend, view displays and presentations, and engage in discussions about  the benefits, impacts, and tradeoffs of proposed transportation strategies being considered to reconnect Orange and L.A. Counties by using the Pacific Electric Railroad Right-of-Way.

.

There are 21 cities in the study area, which span from downtown L.A. through the southeast L.A. communities of Vernon, Huntington Park, Maywood, Bell, Cudahy, South Gate, Lynwood, Downey, Paramount, Bellflower, Artesia, and Cerritos, and continues through Orange County to the Santa Ana Regional Transportation Center.  The Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) and Los Angles Co8unty Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) are also collaborative partners in the study, which concludes in Fall 2011.

All meetings will feature the same presentation and discussion format.  Following are the dates and times of the community meetings in L.A. County:

1.  Tuesday, Nov. 16, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Progress Park Plaza, West Auditorium, 15500 Downey Avenue, Paramount CA 90723

2.  Tuesday, Nov. 23, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Cerritos Park East Community Center, 13234 E. 166th Street, Cerritos CA 90703

3.  Wednesday, Dec. 1, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Huntington Park Community Center, 6925 Salt Lake Street, Huntington Park CA 90255
