City council selects new member
Artesia City Council decided May 10 to go through an appointment process to fill the vacancy on the council after the death of Councilmember Larry R. Nelson, who died on May 1.
City Council appointed Michele Diaz, and she will finish the rest of Nelson’s term, which ends November 8, 2011. Diaz was appointed by the City Council on May 27.
