Recycle your Christmas trees

Consolidated Disposal Service, the city’s waste hauler, is providing residents a curbside service for discarding Christmas trees.

Recycling of the trees is very simple. Residents may place their unwanted Christmas tree beside the green waste container at the same time the trash containers are placed on curb on their scheduled trash day and the trees will be collected. The collection will be provided for a for a three week period following the Christmas. Please remove all ornaments and ornament hangers, lights, garland and tinsel. Remove metal stands and any other non-organic material. DO NOT PLACE THE TREE ON ANY DAY OTHER THAN THE SCHEDULED TRASH DAY!

Trees taller than five feet should be cut in half. .
