Artesia Preschool's last graduating class

Children dressed in yellow and blue robes took their symbolic first step toward Kindergarten, as they graduated from Artesia Park Preschool on the evening of April 23.

Because of the economic crisis, the City of Artesia chose to close the preschool program, and so this graduation marked the last preschool class for the foreseeable future.  The City’s waste hauler, Consolidated Disposal Services, donated $1000 toward the graduation ceremony.

Preschool teacher Patty Castaneda, known to her students as “Miss Patty”, said to parents “I loved watching your children grow up … and I miss them already.”
