Arcadians invite Artesians to honor vets

Arcadia’s mayor, Michael D. Antonovich, is inviting Artesians to attend their special event on Saturday, May 27 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Arcadia County Park, 405 South Santa Anita Ave.

This is their ninth annual event, and a special tribute to our armed forces is scheduled for that day.  Channel 4 weatherman Fritz Coleman will be co-hosting the event.

The event will include skydivers, flyovers, a “Wall of Remembrance” for veterans (bring copies of photos of your loved ones to place on the wall), displays of military vehicles and equipment, a children’s area (face painting, arts and crafts, games, entertainment, free popcorn).

Arcadia is also planning to have free tetanus vaccinations, free haircuts and manicures, live entertainment, food booths and more.

The county and other local governments, as well as nonprofit and private agencies will provide information and resources on health, employment, child support, legal services, etc.
